From a GOP standpoint, if they want to keep their current iteration of Post-Reconstruction ideology, they are going to defend that Texas seat with all of its might. That’s exactly what they probably want to do but likely will not need to do. Without even knowing anything about these two, Paxton subliminally is a greater last name than Talarico in Texas regardless of how Talarico got that last name. In one shape or another, either Cornyn shadow endorse Paxton or Cornyn voters will follow ideology and move to Paxton line anyway. For Texans, this is about “don’t California my Texas,” “NIMBY,” and state taxes. Voting for anyone in these elections is already a morally undignified event that people have to hold their nose in doing so, voting for Paxton is just a minor inconvenience like scratching an itch on the nose while holding their breath once during the entire voting experience.
On the other hand, “don’t California my Texas” but “do bring us all the jobs and Fortune 500s to Y’all Street” is more important. This whole thing is more like John “Karl Malone” Paxton featuring Cruz-Trump hold my brisket tenderism while they become an invisible MAGA voter who never admit they are MAGA or will vote in surveys or claims they have African American friends in diverse social settings but wakes up early to vote MAGA anyway. When Ted Cruz and Trump both heavily campaign for someone in Texas, you know Nueva Beto never had a chance. All the people who claims to potentially vote for Mr. T either all live in Austin, California or never driven on a Texas road before. You just need to drive on a Texas road to understand how this thing will philosophically end.

Republican John Paxton edge out Democrat James Talarico in Texas Senate race, Republicans maintain control of Congress and long-term strategy as a party.

Republicans might not be in the best shape for midterms but they are likely not going to do so bad either. I think they are going to pour a lot of resources into the Texas and the base will be galvanized knowing the democrats are trying to California Texas with a potential “Californian Candidate.”The Democrats have to flip a lot of seats to gain control of Senate. If the GOP heavily defend their Texas positions, the Democrats efforts will fail. The House might be a different story but they are likely Republicans will probably edge it out. There are a lot of Caucasian Democrats who are natural Republicans. The hyper liberalism is over in an intense world with intense competition and real problems. He/she and which of the 96 genders use which bathroom is the least of the problems.
Tough on the Giant Lizard people is a Republican trademark which no one will ever accuse the Democrats of having the balls to take on. If the Republicans continue and expand on this plus incremental movement on true progressive taxes and pro business/manufacturing import substitution industrial policies on all sectors including low, mid and high tech industries. California Liberalism is unsustainable in this era, if the Democrats continue to bankroll this ideology when the general mood and bank won’t support it, they will likely see themselves increasingly getting pushed out of the history books. They need to reinvent themselves like they changed their persona from a racist bigot uncle to the flamboyant hippie years ago.
