This will probably be one of the shortest posts I will ever write. Tai Peete parents are athletes. His father trained him. His Japanese ancestry comes from his maternal side of the family who are involved in baseball. His mother played little league baseball and participated in the European regional championships in the early 1990s, not softball, hardball the real deal baseball. Not going to lie, that’s kind of gangsta. Besides his athletic frame and freakish athletic power hitting and fielding versatilities, he has a very positive attitude on life and is kind of a social media star with a significant following. In life, your natural gifts and abilities are important, it does however take a positive attitude and a passion to keep going.

He handled himself very well in an organization that will probably be patient with his growth. Stat wise, you can do your own research and will probability be amazed. He has addressed a lot of his areas for improvements like decreasing his strikeout rates while still being an aggressive hitters getting power hits. Injury and health might be an issue from a baseball perspective but I think if the Cardinals are not that concerned and he himself says he has fully recovered, it probably might not be chronic nor long-term. I think all things considered he is decently durable as a player. On the card side, his cards are crazy cheap from a value investing standpoint. We are talking about Leaf 1/1 autos for around $10 dollars.

October 2026 USAACCCI watch list: Tai Peete chase rookie/prospect 1/1 RPA cards.

At 21 and likely in triple A early next year and a possible big league call up before or shortly after turning 22, I am getting all the good card deals on his rookie/prospect chase cards that I can get. When prospecting MLB prospects, I generally do not buy a massive amount of a specific player’s base rookie card for the simple reason of not being able to and price/transactional cost issues. From an upside standpoint, if he becomes even a one time all-star, his 1/1 RPAs currently at $10-20 or so will probably be in the mid to high triple digits at least. I think he has that potential. Unlike other prospects, he is under the radar due to hype elsewhere.

His prospect rankings are improving rapidly. I think if he gets called up at 21 it will be a huge W. The Cardinals seem to be willing to do things at that kind of speed historically speaking. The bottomline is, his career is promising, he pleasantly surprised many including the Cardinals, he is under hyped and his chase cards are literally too cheap to ignore at this point. If I see a large number of his 1/1 RPAs selling at this $10-$20 price range at a physical store within the next six months, I will run to the ATM get as much cash as I can then buy as much as I can with the cash I have on hand at that moment. It’s so cheap, I would feel like a fool not to buy them all like that in that situation I described above.
