Once inside of the cave, they were stunned by the captivating aragonite crystals hanging from the cave roof. The mask man took a heavy object from his backpack and threw it into the water to estimate the depth of the body of water. He then put a drone underwater to explore. It was determined that the underwater environment was very complex. It was then that the author, the masked man and K decided to first explore the cave. After rowing for a few hours, they hear the sounds of a water fall. The current was moving too rapidly for them to sail back forward. The masked man made a lasso out of a rope and looped around a huge rock nearby then all three of them pull the packraft toward the boulder.
The masked man assembled a portable heavy-duty hang glider on the boulder that normally could carry two people. The masked man then directed both the author and K to only keep the essentials in their backpack and throwaway everything else to lower their overall weight. They then positioned the hang glider forward as they rowed toward the edge of the waterfall. Right before they reached edge of the waterfall before the huge drop, all three of them grabbed the glider and glided down to the river bank. They then search the area for a few more area before reaching the cliff. At this point, they were exhausted and hungry so they decided to set up camp first. After eating and resting, they discussed their findings among themselves. They then came to the realization that no one had ever been to the monastery before and that the tale of the monastery only exists in folklore.
There are literally no photos nor any verifiable proof that the monastery ever existed. Both the masked man and K believe the monastery may not be at this location if it was even real in the first place. The author took out a small diary that contained a drawing of the monastery. He mentions that this diary belong to the patriarch of the family who visited the monastery frequently. After closely examining the drawing and reading the text in the diary, they were able to confirm the location of the monastery had plants around it that are normally associated with environments with little to no sunlight which would explain why the monastery would be able to obtain the rare plant that also did not need sunlight to survive. Their eyes lit up when they noticed the bubbles oozing out of the water.
