The masked man, the author and K decided to send an underwater drone to explore the river first. Just when the drone reaches tens of feet below surface, the drone’s battery died forcing them to pull the drone out of the water. From the drone footages, they were however able to determine the oozing is caused by air bubbles from below the river bed. All three of them are excellent swimmers and they were able to easily reach the riverbed. They located the origination point of the bubbles and saw a huge stone structure clearly halfway submerged into the riverbed that blocked them from going down any further.
The front door of the structure featured various tablets each with a unique symbol carved on to it. They ran out of air underwater so they decided to comeback to the surface to regroup. After resting a bit, the author remembered that once when he was a child he had seen that structure and the carvings on the tablets in a photograph. He suddenly remembered something important and wasted no time flipping through the pages of the patriarch’s diary until he found what he was looking for, a picture of the structure with the carved tablets rearranged. This appears to be the answer they were looking for. Just as they were about to get back to the riverbed again, K accidentally dripped water onto one of the pages.
The author immediately tried to wipe the water droplet from the page, only to be shocked by a new discovery. It appears that there are hidden invisible ink that revealed a map of some sort. The author spent a good few minutes analyzing the map before the masked man told them it will be dark in a few hours and they are running low on food, the priority now is to follow-up on their only clue to finding the monastery by decoding the tablets. Within ten minutes, they gathered their belongs and swam to the riverbed again. The author, without hesitation, pushed the tablets in a certain order and like magic, a pathway opened in the riverbed. A strong current pulled the three of them into the structure and below the riverbed.
