The ones that hardly anyone buys yet still mainstream. Panini Prizm 2026 FIFA World Cup sealed card products are probably one of the best value you could get at the big box store retail level. You know what you can find in there? Active superstars and rookies playing for almost every soccer superpower from every major soccer league in the world. Yes, I am not a huge fan of soccer cards for a variety of reasons. However, as someone who is deeply entrench in this hobby, of course I know most of the sports in the world and care about almost everything related to the hobby. Most important of them all, game recognizes game. I can recognize value when I see it. I’m not too crazy about the stickers as I don’t think those are exciting enough for every age group in this hobby. I however do believe the average expected values you could get from these 2026 FIFA World Cup Prizm sealed products especially the hanger boxes are just too good to pass up. We are talking about a line of products that possibly contain chase cards of Ronaldo, Messi, Yamal, Haaland, Mbappe and practically every major player in this game including rookies and legends like Pele and Maradona. The soccer fan base is literally billions. I opened a lot of this line of products and when I say a lot, I am probably not talking about a few cases equivalent of boxes.

Regardless of front loading, back loading and whatever freestyle loading it might be, I have been very surprised with the type of long-term value I been getting from almost every single hanger box. What I look for is long-term value as part of a pipeline. A pipeline when functioning properly doesn’t let water or any other liquids turn stale because it constantly brings in new batches just to push them out too. Pipelines do need to be maintained and managed for it to be functional and useful. No GOAT card stay constant all the time in terms of value when inflation adjusted. If you treat collecting as a game of hoarding, you will almost certainly lose money whether nominally or purchasing power adjusted. Transaction cost, transportation and storage cost are actually very significant cost factors in this industry. Hence hoarding everything is going to incur the amount in transaction fees including cash flow related costs that probably will equate to the cost of buying the cards themselves. Investing long-term doesn’t mean the pipeline should take input and flush out outputs. It just means know what long-term means for certain investments and transact to get into new long-term investments when the previous long-term investments are no longer long term.

The variation cards are great and so are the numbered cards and other special insertions. The red white and blue wave color match for certain players on certain national teams are out of this world like works of art. Each hanger box from the product line comes with a number of rookie cards. Sure not every rookie will become the next Mbappe whose Prizm rookie card from 2018 sells for around $100 raw. Let’s be honest, Mbappe level of player there are probably at least and arguably a dozen of such player right now in the world of soccer. My point is it probably doesn’t take more than 20 hanger boxes from this product line to find a rookie card of a potential future Mbappe type of player. Each hanger box is around $20 USD, hence we are talking about probably 2 or 3 rookies pulled from opening 20 or so hanger boxes from that product line who could develop into that caliber of a player. Both Ronaldo and Messi are at the tail end of their competitive careers with many emerging superstars in the pipeline. I personally think this could be one of the best times to invest into this type of set. This type of scenario has almost never happened in professional sports before except in soccer even so it’s not very common.

While people were busy lining up for the latest Pokemon or major US domestic sports cards sets which usually sell out fast, there are other who literally buy the entire case because hardly anyone actually card about the soccer cards. I probably wouldn’t have bought so many of those cards a few years ago at that price range, however, I believe right now soccer is in its golden age in terms of talents and pretty much everything else. Many countries that use to be poor and couldn’t afford to develop the best players are now wealthier and some are super wealthy where they are spending billions of player development at all levels. Then comes the massive contracts and transfer fees. The storylines are also getting inter-generational as well. I think buying into the 2026 World Cup Prizm card sets are a good deal considering soccer is so massive, many leagues have their own recognizable hall of fames. The color match probably wasn’t priced into the retail selling price of this product. This product will be very popular in the future also wasn’t priced into this product either otherwise it would be extremely difficult to get any of these boxes at retail prices. In fact, many people believe this product is over printed which might be true. You know what I think?

I believe the overprinted stuff will probably be left in inventory somewhere to collect dust. Most people don’t realize how much damage a card could receive by sitting in a box that is not well-stored for a long-time. From another perspective, many of these cards won’t sell well after a few decades due to a variety of issues. Having a card of a player out of the box now versus keeping a card of a player inside of a box while not knowing which cards are inside of a box have a lot of drawbacks. This hobby is speculative and dynamic, having cards sitting in a box is probably not going to be the best way to win in this hobby for long. Just like in competitive sports good judgment is important. Look at what will probably happen to the large number of Ohtani premium cards people were holding on to. The same people will probably end up holding large bags of premium Jordan and Brady chase cards when that market declines as well from its peak. The bottomline is nothing is forever, especially not something as fickle as GOATs that some people probably came up to troll those who actually took those acronyms seriously.
