Listen, you have about 15 years to survive this and another 10 years to barely scrape by in the age of AI without extensive knowledge of AI and/or interdisciplinary understanding of everything about everything in the universe and beyond. AI still has its issues especially on the mission critical and compliance side. Schools are not well-equipped enough to provide sufficient training to students in AI fields. Even if you go back to school for a master now, you won’t be able to survive this via the education route. If you are already middle school age and/or beyond, no one can save you from AI replacement than yourself. Yes, if you are an industry elite you can probably survive on education and so on. Don’t think your natural gifts as an athletes is going to help you defeat AI. It won’t. Most GOATs become that because of good systematic training, coaching, film studies, nutrition, conditions etc. Your “I school that fool” competitor who knows how to work technology and AI is probably going to catch up against the GOAT you in due time. Your best chance is ironically time itself as it’s finite for most people and most people’s careers. AI will make arts, films and all kinds of entertainments cheaper and faster to produce and potentially of higher quality. What use to cost hundreds of millions in CGI can now be produced less than $10K.
A crew of hundreds is now just one person with a bunch of bots and online tools. Make sure you learn coding. But won’t AI replace coding? Yes, but you still need to know the fundamentals to know if AI provided you with the right codes and to modify it when necessary. We are currently in the age of rudimentary AI mainly generative and agentic. AI will still need time to develop every aspect of human thoughts and to apply those thoughts into a mortal body like humanoid robots. The technically is not mature and cheap enough to replace humans all together and the political will is simply not anywhere close now to irradiate certain demographic groups of human beings. To be fully sufficient, there must be reproductive independence. Right now the artificial sun and the artificial womb are not fully functional autonomously. In this space, your best option now is AAFRLing. In nature, think about the people who frequently AAFRL that you originally thought were lazy excuses laced human scum bags but later discovered them either battle rap at night, hawking collectible cards in the scalping subfield, work as a security guard, digital beg or participate in some kind of illicit street culture activity like standing on the corner somewhere.

AI is not good enough to be super creative on its own yet, it still is tangled up in machine learning, IP battles and questions regarding the worth of its outputs. You are essentially in the last glory days of being a Samurai in the face of weapons that are still not sufficiently fielded but has already shown its devastation power in small scales. It’s too late to save the Samurai profession from its decline in military applications as the entire genre of close combat in massive military operations have declined in its usefulness. It’s not too late however to turn yourself as a Samurai into a historical and tourism influenced while you still can when the pioneering road is hard and the path is few.
You are unique positioned to do everything on your own with your own resources for almost nothing. The window of opportunity is closing for you and closing fast before they put chips into you and leave you for the interplanetary exploration colonialism dust on Earth and no longer “support” this ecosystem not even provide the basic security patches anymore. When you publish your work, it appears that you are opensourcing your work, the reality is the milk is put at the back of a grocery store for a reason. When your work is integrated into a necessity, you are a necessity and what you produce is the output from a necessary resource. Even America’s number one enemy now cares about IP and AI will most likely make IP even more valuable in the future.
