I admit, President Trump’s popularity has dropped significantly. I believe Paxton and Abbott’s victories in Texas victories are existential necessities for the Republican party and under the circumstances, they are the best candidates for Texas as a whole and for those particular races. Abbott will most likely do very well whereas Paxton will likely win by a paper thin margin. Frankly speaking, if people from outside of Texas think Texans will turn Democratic now, they are extremely delusional. Texas is turning more and more corporate so you won’t hear the loudest Republicans afraid being misinterpreted as racist remarks. If you were driven in Texas before, take a look at the ratio of big trucks and SUVs versus small cars.
Many small car owners also vote Republican too. Ken Paxton is the unlikely and unsung hero in this entire Midterm election because he single handily diverted most of the Democrat’s attention to Texas, a state that will unlikely turn majority blue anytime soon while the Democrats pulled out resources from other key races. The Republicans and the press in general should look closer into this race to understand the current dynamics of the United States. Texas is constructing data centers, semiconductor chip fabs/manufacturing factories, rare earth mines and processing centers and much more. This state is moving so fast precisely because of business friendly policies that both Paxton and Abbott espouses. Northern Texas may be liberal, don’t be fooled though, they love money too perhaps even more. Texans will take this race very personally as to them this is an encroachment on their way of life and will be extremely motivated to defend Texas. Expect the kind of turnout that only happens when people believe they are fighting for their lives. I know this one is pretty much set when I see a large number of East Asian people at the polls. Not trying to make light of this or being funny, but I have a feeling what party they will vote for.

Republicans secure Senate and the House to win Congress in a surprising Midterms victory.

Texas is not growing because of threats regarding implementation of state taxes by potentially certain candidates or letting men play women’s sports, Texas is growing because it is the complete opposite of California and many people seem to like it that way. However, what we are talking about here is small-ball politics. There are definitely benefits to being the party holding most of the power via incumbency. The greatest advantage the Republicans have in the Senate race is the Democrats spent too much of their time and resources on Texas, a true fool’s gold. The second advantage the Republicans have is their 53-47 advantage plus the deciding vote from the VP. The third is Democratic senators are much more likely to vote with Republicans than vice Versa.
Finally, President Trump’s $5,000 incentives absorb at least a small percentage of Democrats’ hippy giving away or counting other people’s money strategy. I think this is a classic Charmander versus Onix battle that came down to a single, unnoticed string of silk from Metapod that attached to Onix which slowed down Onix by millisecond causing it being knocked out. This is unprecedented territory with a president’s popularity this low but still being able to retain Congress. This battle will literally come down to a very small deviation somewhere in the pundits’ prediction models. The Democrats had a golden opportunity but really blew it by pulling resources from other races and putting much of the focus on Texas. Texas, as long as it is in a rivalry with California, Texans aren’t going to look too kind upon the Democrats on statewide races. It’s too late for the Democrats to right this ship now, but it might be a lesson to be learned for the future. The Republicans likely will hold on to the House with ease.
